REGIONAL SALES MANAGER/PRODUCT SPECIALIST



Summary


Responsible for managing a territory of current and potential carbide cutting tool distributors and customer locations in Europe. Promotes GARR TOOL with a positive, friendly attitude and provides education and technical training on the GARR TOOL product line. Travel is daily, crossing borders of several countries in Europe on a regular basis.


Profile of Ideal Candidate


Has a university degree in the field of engineering plus 5 years of experience in the carbide cutting tool industry. Sales experience in the manufacturing industry, excellent communicator and knowledgeable about GARR products. Is able to communicate both written and verbal in German and English, any other languages will be considered. Has a proven track record of integrity and professionalism, is respectful and service-oriented. Enjoys travel and the mobility required for this position.

Key Responsibilities


  1. Daily travel to distributor and customer locations in Europe, strengthening
  2. Gives presentations about GARR products
  3. Provides on-site technical support for distributors and customers
  4. Builds relationships with potential distributors and customers
  5. Provides sales reporting to management team


Other Responsibilities


  1. Strategically plans travel to minimize cost and maximize quality time with customers
  2. Familiarizes oneself with country and market specific niches within Europe
  3. Organizes travel documents and business expenditures


Competencies


  1. Knowledge of solid carbide cutting tools and the ability to identify cutting tool
  2. Effective communicator, able to communicate both written and verbal in German and English, any other languages will be considered
  3. Ability to read and understand blue prints/specs
  4. Understands and can train others the Feeds and Speeds of products
  5. Computer skills, Microsoft Office
  6. Problem Solving/Analysis
  7. Organization Skills
  8. Collaboration Skills
  9. Mechanical aptitude, machining experience and knowledge
  10. Math Skills: fraction, decimal, and whole number addition, subtraction, percentage, and ratio computation

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently traveling by automobile, train, plane, or other form of transportation, with daily rest periods in temporary housing or hotels. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time position, with weekly travel, frequently requiring overnight stays.

This position requires frequent, weekly travel across Europe.


Required Education and Experience


University engineering degree plus 2-5 years experience in sales in the manufacturing industry or more than 6 years sales experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in carbide cutting tool industry.
